Brian Trench is an expert in science communication, who founded the Masters in Science Communication at DCU, which explores social issues in science and technology, and the communications and controversies surrounding them.
Brian is a member of Leonardo Group of The Science Gallery, which acts as a 'brain trust' of The Science Gallery, Dublin. This is where themes for the new exhibitions are inspired and where collaborations are sparked. He was a full-time journalist for 20 years working on politics, foreign affairs, industrial relations, music, industry, technology and the media. He has worked for many publications and broadcasters in print journalism, TV and radio. His research interests are focussed on science on the Internet, models of science communication, science journalism and public engagement with science. He is co-editor of books on science communication, and is currently president of PCST: the global network for science communication.
