Medtech Pulse will offer an insight into the heart of Medtech in Galway, an opportunity to discuss and explore the programmes and initiatives in this area. Why is Galway key to this sector and what is the future for a global Medtech hub? What part does education, research, acceleration, commercialisation, investment and much more play in this success?

Lighting Talks
Come and meet the rising stars in Medtech at NUI Galway – students with burning ideas, entrepreneur researchers, innovative clinical experts and campus start-ups. In a fast-paced series of talks, they will share their experiences of engaging with supports from NUI Galway and how we are building for the future with:

LaunchPad - NUI Galway's entrepreneurship programme.
BioExel - Ireland's only Medtech accelerator.
BioInnovate Ireland - Training and fellowship programme modelled on Stanford's BioDesign.
Health Innovation Hub Ireland - Commercialisation hub embedded in Irish hospitals.
CÚRAM - Science Foundation Ireland Medical Device Research Centre.
Translational Medical Device Lab - Ireland's first applied medical device lab to be embedded within a large regional hospital, and co-located with a clinical trials facility.

Panel Discussion - 'Foundations and Future'
The lightning talks will be followed by panel discussion on the 'Foundations and Future' of the Medtech sector with experts from industry, the healthcare sector and investors. Panelists will include: Dr Sinead Keogh Director, Irish Medtech Association, IBEC; John Power, CEO Aerogen; Dr Martina Ní Chúlain, College of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences, NUI Galway.
