Professor Lorraine O’Driscoll is a Distinguished Full Professor/Chair of Pharmacology and Biomedicine at Trinity College Dublin. Her research interests are in applications of extracellular vehicles (EVs) in health and disease, notably cancer. She has held leadership roles in major research consortia like ME-HaD and TRAIN-E.
She is one of the 12 recipients, across all disciplines, of the Irish Research Council Advanced Laureate Award. She has supervised 36 PhD students to completion. Aided by patient representatives, her research has resulted in five clinical trials, patents, and publications. She has published in high impact journals such as New Engl. J. Medicine, Cancer Research, Molecular Cancer, JEV and Nature Methods.
