Our research involves the design of advanced polymeric biomaterials, building on expertise in synthetic polymer chemistry, materials science and biomedical materials. A specific focus is bioactive hybrid materials, in which the properties (mechanical, degradation, bioactivity, etc.) can be modulated by the chemical nature and composition of the building blocks. These materials can be formulated into hydrogels or nanocarriers and through collaboration with industry evaluated for their feasibility in biomedical devices.
