The focus of our research is the translation of biosensing technologies to medical devices, particularly in the area of cardiovascular health. We are developing technologies for physiological and biochemical assessment of cardiovascular conditions in the scope of preventive healthcare and prognosis. The goal of MedTrain project is to develop a minimally invasive diagnostic device for a label-free detection of an undiagnosed or unrecognized myocardial infarction. The device will be based on the electrochemical sensing of cardiac-specific proteins in the patient’s blood. A potential candidate is expected to have a background in biochemical sensing, biomaterials and knowledge of electronic system integration.
