Jose Varghese Rajendran

Jose received his PhD in Chemistry from the University of Johannesburg in 2023, focusing on the development of low-toxic quantum dot composites for phototherapeutic applications. He has since gained experience in both academia and industry, contributing to non-invasive wearable sensor development at Breath AI and supporting regulatory strategy for medical device manufacturers.

As a MedTrain+ postdoctoral fellow at the University of Galway, his research centres on developing an optical fibre biosensor for continuous monitoring of cardiovascular disease biomarkers, under the supervision of Adnan Elahi and Patricia Scully. His broader interests include innovative biosensing platforms for early disease detection.
