CÚRAM’s research themes are designed to align with the European Research Council, Marie Skłowdoska Curie Actions and Horizon Europe’s programmes. Since its establishment in 2015, CÚRAM have been involved in 98 Horizon Europe and the prior H2020 programme awards. The total value of these awards exceeds €335M (€58.5M CÚRAM team share). CÚRAM has also been awarded significant funding from other EU programmessuch as INTERREG and COST actions, as well as the European Innovation Council (€4.7M CÚRAM team share). CÚRAM’s research areas are aligned with three, key enabling technologies of nanotechnologies, advanced materials and biotechnology that underpin Horizon Europe’s three key priorities of excellent science, global challenges & European industrial competitiveness, and Innovative Europe.

The CÚRAM team have a high level of involvement in a number of European and intergovernmental networks and continues to strengthen links with industry led stakeholder forums and ECRIN, the existing European Clinical Research Infrastructure Network to ensure a high level of competitiveness in achieving CÚRAM’s key objectives and securing funding to establish a sustainable world class Medical Device research centre for Ireland.
