Andreas Heise

Andreas Heise (Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland) leads the Polymer Chemistry and Biopolymer Labs at RCSI, conducting multidisciplinary research on polymer chemistry and biopolymers for biomedical applications. His research employs the concepts of macromolecular engineering to modulate polymer properties by controlled structural design and functionalisation for advanced applications, such as in biomaterial science. Andreas has developed a range of synthetic polypeptides, including new glycopolypeptides that mimic biological glycoproteins.
