CÚRAM is pleased to host Professor Alan Boyd, a globally recognised expert in gene therapy development and pharmaceutical medicine, for a special seminar on the future of advanced therapy delivery.
Professor Boyd has played a major role in the approval of over 20 prescription medicines, including 11 cell and gene therapy-based products and a COVID-19 vaccine. With a career spanning both academia and industry, he has helped bridge the gap between research and real-world treatments.
In 2005, he founded Boyds Consultants, supporting life science companies and academic groups worldwide in turning research into viable medicines. His previous roles include senior leadership at Glaxo, ICI, Zeneca, and founding Ark Therapeutics Ltd, where he led the first gene therapy submission to the EMA with Cerepro®.
Professor Boyd is a Past-President and Fellow of the UK Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine, a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences, and holds multiple honorary and professional fellowships. He also serves on the boards of several life science companies.
His seminar will explore the critical role of precision and placement in delivering cell and gene therapies, offering valuable insight into the science and strategy behind effective treatments.
