Postdoctoral Researcher
Tina completed her PhD in Biomaterials from Dublin City University. Her doctoral research focused on developing surface treatment strategies to enhance the corrosion resistance of magnesium-based biodegradable orthopaedic implants. Prior to her PhD, she worked as a design engineer, where she developed patient-specific instruments for osteotomy and total knee replacement surgery. Tina is currently working under the supervision of Nicholas Dunne and Tanya Levingstone, developing a composite coating using advanced coating techniques on commercial WE43 magnesium wedge-shaped implants. This work will establish a foundation for future preclinical and clinical studies, contributing to the translation of Mg-based implants into real-world orthopaedic applications.
