Soumya obtained her PhD from the Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, India, where she studied biomarkers involved in predicting the risk of haemorrhagic transformation in acute ischaemic stroke. She has contributed to research on stroke biomarkers, HDL functionality in stroke, and genetic studies in Parkinson’s disease. She has worked on projects funded by the NIH Fogarty International Center and UK Research and Innovation. At CÚRAM, she is working under the supervision of Pau Farras to develop a biosensor-based multiplexed assay for the early detection of cardiovascular diseases.
