Ilijana Kovrlija

Ilijana obtained her BSc and MSc in Biochemical Engineering and Biotechnology from the University of Belgrade, Serbia. She completed her PhD in Chemical Engineering at the Riga Technical University, Latvia, focusing on calcium phosphate biomaterials as drug delivery vehicles for bone regeneration. Ilijana is now a MedTrain+ postdoctoral researcher based at CÚRAM under the supervision of Abhay Pandit. Her work focuses on the development of hydrogel matrices to investigate glycosylation pathways in vitro, thus contributing to a better understanding of host-material interactions.
