Dr Dib-Hajj is Professor Emeritus and Senior Research Scientist in Neurology in the Yale School of Medicine, USA. He earned his undergraduate education from the American University of Beirut, Lebanon, and his PhD from the Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio. His research focuses on the pathophysiology of excitability disorders, including pain and epilepsy, with a particular emphasis on the role of voltage-gated sodium channels and their potential as therapeutic targets. During his phased retirement, he continues to maintain an NIH-funded research program dedicated to targeting sodium channels for analgesia. A widely published author, Dr Dib-Hajj has more than 250 publications, and has established national and international collaborations across academic and pharmaceutical industry. He was honored to be invited to deliver plenary lectures at global scientific meetings, teach at neuroscience and pain training schools, and mentor MD, PhD students as well as early-career investigators
