We are delighted to welcome Dr David MacManus, Associate Professor in the School of Mechanical & Materials Engineering at University College Dublin and Principal Investigator of the BRAIN Lab. His research focuses on unravelling the biomechanics of traumatic brain injury.
MacManus holds a BA, BAI in Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering from Trinity College Dublin and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from University College Dublin. He was awarded a Science Foundation Ireland Industry Fellowship in 2018 to investigate biological mechanisms underlying insulin-induced injection-site lipohypertrophy. He later joined Dublin City University as an Assistant Professor of Biomedical Engineering in 2019 before returning to UCD in 2023.
