Join us on 30th January for an enlightening session with Professor Smales, a distinguished scholar from NIBRT, as he shares insights from their research in IVTmRNA.
Mark Smales is a Principal Investigator at the National Institute for Bioprocessing Research and Training (NIBRT), Dublin and a Visiting Full Professor at University College Dublin. Mark is also a Professor of Industrial Biotechnology, University of Kent, Canterbury, UK.
Prof Smales work focusses upon identifying cellular processes controlling biotherapeutic recombinant protein synthesis and quality from cell expression systems, development of diagnostics, investigation of viral vector based gene therapy applications, the study of mRNA translation, and the development of vaccines – particularly those based upon mRNAs.
He completed his PhD at Massey University New Zealand before and currently holds a joint appointment between the University of Kent, UK and NIBRT.
