Dr Saša (Sasha) Novak is a professor at the Jožef Stefan International Postgraduate School in Ljubljana, Slovenia, where she teaches Science Communication, and a former scientific advisor at the Jožef Stefan Institute.
Her scientific work focused on the research and development of novel biomaterials and inorganic materials for applications under extreme conditions.
She is the author or co-author of numerous scientific publications and patents. For her outstanding scientific and technological achievements, she received the national Zois Recognition Awards in 2003 and 2013. In 2022, the Slovenian Science Foundation awarded her the honorary title Science Communicator of the Year.
Passionate about bringing science closer to people, Dr Novak launched and leads the Science on the Street project, which opens up science to the public and shares the excitement of new discoveries.
