Camilla has a BSc in Biology and an MSc in Evolutionary Biology from the University of Padua, Italy. In 2021 she completed a PhD in Molecular Medicine on the effect of autophagy-related proteins in zebrafish reproduction, breeding behaviour and sexual determination. After a period in Thailand as a trainer to help Chiang Mai University set up the first zebrafish facility of Northern Thailand, she moved to Dublin to be a postdoctoral researcher.  Camilla now works in the Ocular Pharmacology and Genetics Group under the supervision of Breandán Kennedy (University College Dublin). Her work revolves around finding novel therapeutic molecules against metastatic uveal melanoma by using not only in vitro models, but also in vivo zebrafish xenograft models.
