Chiara Leandro

Postgraduate Student

MedDevDoc Fellow

Chiara holds a Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from Politecnico di Torino, where she specialised in biomaterials, drug delivery systems, and regenerative medicine. She completed her master’s thesis at the Institut Químic de Sarrià (IQS), Universitat Ramon Llull in Barcelona, where she investigated zwitterionic polymer coatings for adeno-associated virus (AAV) vectors as a potential treatment strategy for Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Her research interests focus on biomaterials and tissue engineering for regenerative medicine. At DCU, she will work on the development of a phosphoserine-based adhesive hydrogel for tendon repair under the supervision of Tanya Levingstone, Nicholas Dunne, and Majid Akbarzadeh Khorshidi.
