Eilís Dowd (University of Galway) is a neuroscientist primarily interested in the potential of biomaterials to enhance brain repair in Parkinson’s disease. Her research focuses on experimental approaches that offer the possibility of halting or repairing degenerative processes. These include the development and validation of novel neuroprotective or neuroreparative drugs, gene therapy, cell therapy, and biomaterial therapy.
