Mohsen obtained his BSc in Genetics from Azad University, Varamin–Pishva Branch, and his MSc in Biochemistry from the Institute for Advanced Studies in Basic Sciences (IASBS), Iran. During his master’s research, he investigated protein aggregation and its role in neurodegenerative disorders. His research interests focus on neurodegeneration and biomaterials. At CÚRAM, he will develop brain-specific organoid models and investigate the use of hydrogels, including hyaluronic acid and collagen, to enhance vascularisation in brain organoids. He is supervised by Eilís Dowd in the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics, University of Galway.
