Tizibt holds an MD from Hawassa University in Ethiopia and a Master’s in Neuroscience from the University of Göttingen, Germany, and the University of Bordeaux, France. She obtained her PhD in Biomedical Sciences and Translational Medicine at the University of Brescia, Italy, with an ENTRAIN MSCA fellowship. Her prior research investigated post-injury pathology in ischemic stroke, focusing on protein aggregation, neuroinflammation, blood-brain barrier damage, and vascular repair.
In her current project with CÚRAM, Tizibt is evaluating the therapeutic potential of a 3D microgel platform for delivering mesenchymal stem cells to modulate brain and systemic immune functions in traumatic brain injury, supervised by David Loane.
