Clinical Targets
Soft Tissue
CÚRAM’s research in soft tissue aims to address conditions such as diabetic foot ulcers and hernias through advanced regenerative therapies. A key project focuses on developing a novel cell-scaffold bio-complex to treat non-healing diabetic foot ulcers, leveraging umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stromal cells and FDA-approved scaffolds. This approach has shown promising results in terms of accelerating wound closure and enhancing tissue regeneration.Another significant initiative is the use of biomaterial-based approaches, such as nanoparticle-hydrogel systems, encapsulating anti-inflammatory drugs to treat gastroenterological conditions, such as Inflammatory Bowel Disease. CÚRAM’s innovative solutions in soft tissue research are transforming treatment paradigms, with a strong focus on improving patient quality of life and clinical outcomes.
